A two day trip on California whitewater rivers usually means two days on the same river. This is a relaxing pace for the majority of users and highly recommended for families. We recommend two day trips for most river rafters. Our most popular two day river trip is the South Fork American River. This Class III+ run starts on the first day with the Chili Bar section. The second day we raft the Gorge run. So even though you are on the same river, you will be doing two different sections. Does this all make sense? The two day combo packages mean that you will be doing two different rivers in two days! More bang for your buck. This can be exhausting for a beginner or for someone who may not be in the best of shape (get in shape, people!) We would like the combo people to be in excellent physical condition since vigorous paddling is the norm on these trips. The most popular river rafting combo trips are the South Fork and Middle Fork American package. |

CAMPING: Where do we stay on the overnight trips?

| Two day rafting trips are divided into two separate river rafting sections done over a course of two days. Base camp is located on the river. South Fork American base camp is at Camp Lotus on the river or at the BLM wilderness camp on the river; Middle Fork American base camp is at the wilderness site on the river, and the two day North Fork is also at Camp Lotus. For the Klamath runs, all the camping is on the river in wilderness settings. This is also true for the Tuolumne packages. | For combo packages on the American River, the base camp is at Camp Lotus on the South Fork American. For the Cal Salmon combos the base camp is at Oak Bottom campground. |
