Detailed Description
After meeting in Auburn and packing your personal gear into our waterproof bags we head to put in. We will load all of your gear plus everything necessary to pamper you at camp, into our oar boats. After a exciting and relaxing day of numerous whitewater rapids, floating through this beautiful river canyon, a gourmet deli lunch and the opportunity for a side hike up a slot canyon, we will arrive at a truly remote and secluded camp deep in the 2000 foot wilderness river canyon. Here there will be nothing to distract you from the beauty that is the Middle Fork American River. No cell phones, no cars, nothing but sand beaches, oak trees, clear water and a thousand stars above your head. Let all your stresses melt away as you bask it all in. Or try your hand at fishing this world class trout river. While you are enjoying all of this our professional guides will be preparing you a scrumptious 3 course dinner including sangria and non-alcoholic beverages. In the morning our guides will be up early preparing an amazing breakfast including fresh fruit, eggs, sausage and of course coffee as you slowly rise to take in the sun as it warms the beach. After a full breakfast, we load back into our rafts for a lazy float through this gorgeous river canyon. This is truly the best way to experience the Middle Fork. You will feel like you are the first people to see this river as morning wakes the wilderness canyon, you may even see deer or bear crossing the river or river otters playing in it. We then stop for lunch, but not before having the opportunity to hike up a side creek to a waterfall complete with swimming hole. After lunch it is time to jump back into the whitewater action. As the river enters into a gorge filled with back to back Class IV rapids. If that wasn’t enough excitement, you can watch your guides take the rafts over a 30 foot waterfall that is a mandatory portage. When this trip is over you will have had a once in a lifetime experience that you wish would never end. This trip really is the best way to fully enjoy and appreciate the Middle Fork American River. On a 2 day Middle Fork Trip there are all the thrills of a 1 day trip plus plenty of time to swim, play, hike, fish or simple let your cares melt away.
